Senior Product Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, the Senior Product Manager will own a core area of Payscale’s compensation benchmarking product. This strategic, customer‑obsessed role drives product vision, roadmap and AI‑assisted delivery to turn compensation data into business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own product strategy and roadmap, translating customer needs, market trends and business priorities into a clear, prioritized plan.
• Rapidly prototype and validate new concepts using AI‑assisted tools such as Claude, Cursor or v0, moving from idea to proof‑of‑concept faster than traditional methods.
• Lead cross‑functional delivery, partnering with engineering, data science and design, managing backlogs and acting as Product Owner for scrum teams when needed.
• Build business cases, assess value and prioritize stories, epics and themes to keep the team focused on high‑impact work.
• Align stakeholders on priorities, communicate feature plans and ensure seamless hand‑off between teams.
• Maintain market and competitive intelligence to sharpen roadmap decisions.
• Shape packaging and go‑to‑market strategy in collaboration with product marketing.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience as a technical Product Manager or Product Owner, preferably in data or analytics.
• Proven track record defining product strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted development or prototyping tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, v0).
• Comfort operating with minimal upfront documentation, favoring iterative validation.
• Strong technical fluency in data and analytics platforms and ability to communicate with engineers and scientists.
• Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in HR technology or Total Rewards is a plus.
