About the role
Workster is looking for an Italian‑speaking Anti‑Financial Crime Analyst to join the compliance team of a fast‑growing global fintech company in Bucharest. The analyst will help protect the business and its clients by detecting and preventing money‑laundering, fraud and terrorism financing activities.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor financial transactions and customer activity to identify suspicious behaviour and mitigate AML, fraud and terrorism financing risks.
- Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) using proprietary and public data sources for new and existing clients.
- Review, investigate and document alerts generated by AML and fraud detection systems, escalating cases according to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse client profiles, payment flows and supporting documents to ensure compliance with Italian and EU anti‑financial crime regulations.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and Customer Operations teams to achieve timely case resolution.
- Prepare clear reports on findings and assist in filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the appropriate authorities.
- Maintain accurate records in line with data‑protection and internal audit standards.
- Stay up‑to‑date with regulatory changes, financial‑crime trends and best practices within Italian and European AML frameworks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal policies, controls and training programmes.
Required profile
- Native or fluent Italian with a good command of English (minimum B2 level).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
- 6‑24 months of experience in financial‑crime analysis, AML, compliance, banking or a similar financial‑services role (preferred).
- Solid understanding of Italian and EU anti‑financial‑crime regulations (training will be provided).
- Strong analytical, investigative and documentation abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
