Senior Manager – ESG Policy & Governance

About the role

The Senior Manager will lead the Sustainability & Financial Intelligence (SFI) team in developing and governing ESG, climate, green revenue and EU Taxonomy data. This role ensures regulatory compliance, policy consistency and high‑quality data delivery across LSEG’s global products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a global team of Content Specialists and act as the primary point of contact for regulatory evidence requests, policy escalations and methodology reviews.
• Interpret and implement sustainability regulations (e.g., ESMA) and maintain the SFI policy framework with auditability and version control.
• Own and execute content and capability roadmaps in partnership with data strategy, technology and operations teams.
• Drive governance processes for policy creation, review, approval and ensure consistent application across datasets.
• Oversee requirements definition, project delivery, and removal of blockers for cross‑functional initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations and quality teams to embed new processes, tools and business rules.
• Lead innovation, automation and change‑management initiatives to scale the SFI offering.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience in sustainable finance and at least 8 years overall in financial services.
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage global, matrixed teams.
• Deep knowledge of ESG datasets, climate data methodologies, green revenue classifications and EU Taxonomy principles.
• Experience in governance, risk management, controls and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions.

Required skills

• Understanding of sustainability regulations and standards (e.g., ESMA, EU Taxonomy).
• Expertise in ESG, climate and green revenue data content sourcing.
• Proficiency in policy framework design, version control and auditability.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
