Accountant (1 Year Contract)

About the role

Maersk is seeking an Accountant for a one‑year assignment in its Bucharest office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work on vendor and customer invoicing, reconciliations, and support the monthly close while ensuring compliance with global and local financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare high‑quality customer invoices and sales forecasting reports.
• Review employee expense reports and support postings.
• Retrieve and process bank statements; perform account reconciliations.
• Execute manual payments, including tax and vendor advances.
• Prepare monthly statistical and trial‑balance reports for statutory reporting.
• Manage the Finance general mailbox and collaborate with local teams.
• Support the monthly financial close and Archer controls, and assist audits.

Required profile

• Finance or Accounting degree.
• 1‑2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Exposure to Accounts Receivable.
• Experience in logistics or warehousing is a plus.

Required skills

• SAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
