French-speaking Anti-Financial Crime Analyst - Bucharest

About the role

We are looking for a French‑speaking Anti‑Financial Crime Analyst to join a leading international fintech organisation in Bucharest. The role sits within a dynamic Compliance and Anti‑Financial Crime team, protecting clients and the business from money‑laundering, fraud and terrorist financing risks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor transactions and client activity, flagging and investigating suspicious behaviour.
• Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) using proprietary and public data sources.
• Review alerts from AML and fraud detection systems, escalating and documenting cases in line with French, EU and internal policies.
• Analyse customer profiles, payment flows and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and Operations teams for timely case resolution.
• Prepare investigation summaries and assist with filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when required.
• Maintain accurate records to support audit trails and data‑protection standards.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes, AML trends and emerging threats in the French and European financial sector.
• Contribute to process improvements and share knowledge within the compliance team.

Required profile

• Fluent or native French with strong written and spoken English (minimum B2).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law or a related field.
• 6‑24 months of experience in compliance, AML, anti‑financial crime or financial services (banking/fintech) is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of French and European AML regulations (training provided).
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
