Cost Analyst

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Cost Analyst in Voluntari, Romania. The role covers cost analysis, stock account reconciliation, monthly and annual closing, variance analysis and key performance indicators, with a hybrid way of working.

Key responsibilities

• Take over assigned activities, prepare detailed process manuals where needed, and share knowledge through shadowing and training.
• Analyse stock and profit and loss accounts, and perform cost variance analysis (raw materials, quantities, prices).
• Reconcile cost and inventory information across systems and databases (accounts payable with general ledger, inventory interfaces) and justify stock accounts.
• Calculate provisions and accruals and allocate them to cost centres (e.g. net realizable value, slow-moving provision).
• Check inventories: raw material consumption, credit notes, technological losses, transportation costs and inventory accruals.
• Carry out monthly closing, prepare the required reports, and contribute to key indicators such as cost of materials, production cost, measured inventories, cost of sales and variances.
• Perform annual closing: variance analysis, action plans and accounts cleaning.
• Support information process improvements, project work (automation, standardisation, efficiency) and process changes.
• Provide finished goods data for statutory statistical reports, assist the accounting manager with auditors and fiscal authorities, and help prepare the transfer price file.
• Propose process improvements, carry out self-assessments, prepare audit materials and presentations, and travel abroad if necessary.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in finance.
• Relevant experience in accounting, controlling or industrial controlling.
• Advanced English; French is optional.
• Team player, analytical, structured, detail-oriented and dedicated.
