Chief Accountant Turkey

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Chief Accountant for its Turkey operations, based in the Michelin Shared Services Center in Bucharest, where more than 1,000 colleagues work in Purchasing, Finance, Logistics, Sales Administration, Personnel and Service Management. The role oversees accounting activities for Turkey and supports the Territory/Country Corporate Finance Leader.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the deadlines and quality of Group and statutory financial statements and the reliability of data given to internal and external stakeholders.
• Review the monthly closing process against Group standards and statutory requirements so that financial statements are economically coherent and easy to validate.
• Ensure the quality of accounting data used for tax returns.
• Prepare and submit statutory reporting for validation, following Turkish accounting standards and regulations (similar to IFRS).
• Oversee Group and statutory audits.
• Contribute to business forecasts and present accounting data during regulatory or fiscal controls.
• Advise departments on financial matters and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a Shared Service Center or a multinational company.
• Strong understanding of Turkish local accounting principles and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; main interlocutors are from Romania, Turkey and France.
• English and Turkish required; Romanian is a plus.

Required skills

• ACCA/CIMA qualification or studies (a plus)
• IFRS knowledge (a plus)
• Direct taxes (corporate income tax) knowledge and experience (a plus)
