CNC Machinist - Aircraft Engine Parts

About the role

GE Aerospace is looking for a skilled machinist in Bucharest to set up and operate multi-axis CNC/NC machines and manufacture high-quality parts from various metals for aircraft engines. The role is hands-on and fits within a team-based manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment, including multi-axis CNC/NC machines
• Machine all types of metals and achieve the required tolerances and finishes set by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality
• Check part dimensions with micrometers, calipers, indicators, special-purpose gauges and scales
• Keep facilities, materials and the work area clean and orderly, and follow environmental, health and safety requirements
• Carry out preventive maintenance and, on a temporary basis, train other operators on equipment they are qualified to use
• Work with NC programmers, process engineers and tooling engineers, and take part in daily team meetings
• Use proper PPE and safety procedures

Required profile

• Technical secondary school or higher degree, majoring in machinery or electrical engineering
• Proven manufacturing experience and knowledge of mechanical or electrical trades
• Ability to read engineering drawings and documents
• Knowledge of cutting tools and quality control, and ability to use standard measuring tools
• Strong communication skills with NC programmers, process and tooling engineers
• Familiarity with CNC machining centers and heavy machines; proven experience as a tool administrator in mechanical machining

• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and the Tool Data Management system (desired)
• Zoller tool-measuring device (desired)
• Crane and forklift operation qualification (desired)
