Working Student – Data Engineering

About the role

We are looking for university students who want to gain hands‑on experience in Data Engineering. As a Working Student in the Data Engineering group you will help build secure, high‑quality software products that enable continuous data flow in the vehicle‑to‑cloud ecosystem, working in a hybrid model with an international team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data integration solutions for large‑scale automotive R&D applications.
• Design, test and document reliable, high‑quality data integration components.
• Create proof‑of‑concepts and present them for implementation.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of near‑real‑time processing software.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Big Data frameworks.
• Produce and maintain data visualisations together with domain experts.
• Collaborate in an agile, internationally distributed team.
• Learn new technologies under the guidance of a mentor.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Computer Science, Automation, Electronics & Telecommunications, Informatics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Basic Python programming skills and a strong affinity for working with data.
• Organised, accurate and quality‑oriented.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Python (pandas, numpy, scipy).
• Optional programming languages: Golang, Scala, Java.
• Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Big Data platforms: Hadoop, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory.
• Automation tools: Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Apache Airflow, Jenkins.
• Streaming & messaging: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Relational databases: Oracle, MySQL.
• NoSQL databases: MongoDB.
• Data visualisation: Tableau, PowerBI.
• Version control: Git, Bitbucket.
