Data Engineer for Connected Services

About the role

As a Data Engineer in the Engineering and Data Solutions department you will create software products focused on security, quality and automation for continuous data flow within the vehicle‑to‑cloud ecosystem. You will work with an internationally distributed team in a hybrid working model, delivering state‑of‑the‑art data products for automotive R&D.

Key responsibilities

• Develop data integration solutions for large‑scale automotive R&D applications.
• Design, test and document reliable, high‑quality data integration solutions.
• Create proof‑of‑concepts and pitch them for implementation.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation of near‑real‑time processing software products.
• Build scalable, automated ETL/ELT pipelines on Big Data frameworks.
• Create and maintain data visualisations in collaboration with domain experts.
• Work in an agile, internationally distributed team and coordinate with project leaders, product owners and solution architects.
• Present and communicate solutions to an international audience.
• Guide and mentor new team members.

Required profile

• BSc and/or MSc in Computer Science, Automation, Electronics, Telecommunications, Informatics, Mathematics or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer on data‑integration platforms.
• Proficient Python programming skills.
• Ability to develop quick prototypes for data transformations.
• Experience with relational (or NoSQL) database operations and reporting/monitoring.
• Organised, accurate and thorough with a focus on quality.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Preferable practical experience in project coordination roles (e.g., product owner, agile master).
