Senior Group Internal Auditor

About the role

Coface, a global trade credit insurer, is looking for a Senior Group Internal Auditor to join its Romania-based Audit Team. You will contribute to audit assignments across the entire Coface Group in line with the multi-year audit plan and Group audit policies, working in teams of 2 to 5 international auditors under the guidance of a Head of Mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop audit programs by defining engagement objectives, scope and risk priorities.
• Evaluate internal controls, compliance with Group policies and progress on prior recommendations.
• Execute risk-based audits with international teams and prepare reports with findings, risks and recommendations.
• Identify control gaps and propose improvements to processes, systems and governance.
• Support audit quality, methodology enhancements and digitalization of audit activities.
• Take part in special projects such as process reviews or ad-hoc assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in internal audit, financial audit or financial controlling.
• Experience in general industry; credit insurance experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally, as missions typically last 1 to 2 weeks.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management and audit standards (IIA Standards, COSO).
• English communication; additional languages are an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with audit tools such as AuditBoard or TeamMate is a plus.
