Lead Quality Engineer – AI Delivery

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Engineer to drive quality across multiple AI delivery pods building enterprise‑scale AI solutions. The role is based in Cluj‑Napoca and requires at least three days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering across AI pods, establishing risk‑based quality standards and AI evaluation frameworks.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, UAT approaches, and release‑readiness metrics.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage for functional, integration, end‑to‑end, non‑functional, AI‑specific, and business acceptance testing.
• Define testing and evaluation methods for LLM, RAG, agentic and AI‑enabled solutions, including hallucination risk and regression testing.
• Guide the creation of reusable automation for web, APIs, backend services, integrations, asynchronous workflows, and AI components.
• Provide clear quality metrics, defect trends, AI evaluation results, and release‑readiness reporting to pod leads and program leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading quality engineering for enterprise‑scale AI/GenAI solutions in production.
• Hands‑on testing experience with LLM, RAG, agentic or workflow‑based AI applications.
• Strong background defining end‑to‑end test strategies, UAT approaches, quality gates and release‑readiness criteria.
• Experience working across multiple delivery teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to translate quality evidence into clear risks and recommendations.

Required skills

• Software engineering and automation in TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python.
• Automation frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, Mocha, PyTest.
• Testing of web applications, APIs, backend services, integrations and distributed systems.
• AI evaluation frameworks, regression suites, test harnesses and representative datasets.
• CI/CD, cloud‑native systems (AWS, Azure), observability and Secure SDLC practices.
