Fourth Engineer (SF)

About the role

Maersk is seeking an experienced Fourth Engineer (SF) for container vessels. The role involves operating and maintaining advanced machinery on technically sophisticated ships.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engine room watch‑keeping duties and routine work as directed by senior engineers.
• Maintain purifiers, air compressors, boiler and jacket water chemical levels, as well as lifeboat engines.
• Assist the Chief Engineer during bunkering operations and ensure all machinery under your charge runs efficiently.
• Monitor spare‑part stocks, keep work areas clean, and follow safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months sea‑time in rank on vessels with UMS and at least 20,000 BHP engine size.
• Experience performing engine room watch‑keeping and routine maintenance.
• Ability to supervise personnel and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards.
