About the role
Maersk is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment on its container vessels. You will ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations while complying with legislation, class requirements and company procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Control, supervise and delegate maintenance of safety equipment, refrigerated cargo systems, navigation, communication, deck and hull items.
- Advise the Master on machinery failures, obtain permission before critical maintenance, and keep shore departments informed to maximise safety, environmental protection and quality.
- Manage administration, cost control and work practices, and ensure compliance with emergency, contingency and environmental protection procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 12 months sea‑time as Chief Engineer.
- Experience on vessels with UMS and at least 20,000 BHP engine power.
