Accountant (m/f/d)

About the role

Variosystems develops and manufactures electronic solutions for industries such as Medtech & Life Science, Industrial & Automation, Aerospace & Defence and Smart Infrastructure & Environment. It is looking for an Accountant to handle daily accounting operations, reconciliations and compliance with statutory and group-wide accounting standards, supporting both local and centralized finance processes and efficient month-end and year-end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Record, review and reconcile general ledger transactions to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Process supplier invoices, vendor payments and customer invoices, ensuring timely collection and payment.
• Maintain asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review VAT, sales tax and tax declarations, and support compliance with local tax rules and internal policies.
• Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Support internal control improvements and ensure proper documentation and archiving.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in economics.
• Proven track record in a similar position.
• Advanced or intermediate English.
• Teamwork, interpersonal skills and problem-solving attitude.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, general ledger and reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Experience with accruals, adjustments and financial statement preparation.
• Knowledge of VAT, local tax rules and internal control requirements.
• High precision in financial entries and reporting, with strong organizational skills.
• SAP and Excel knowledge.
