Solutions Architect (Hybrid)

About the role

Marsh Technology is looking for a Solutions Architect to join its team in Cluj-Napoca. This is a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the office. The role focuses on the early stages of the software development life cycle, working with the Portfolio Delivery function to understand customer and technical needs and design innovative, scalable, reusable solutions aligned with Marsh's technology standards.

Key responsibilities

• Work with partners to understand business and technology problems or opportunities
• Provide process, guidance and governance on technology obsolescence, component re-use and platform modernization
• Design, document and communicate solution designs that accommodate agile principles and resilience to changing requirements
• Incorporate reuse, enterprise standards and security-by-design into designs
• Influence the MMC technology roadmap and take designs through onboarding and architecture assurance reviews
• Support implementation of designs, from infrastructure setup to delivery, and support cost estimation during budget cycles
• Empower development teams with a light-touch approach and share knowledge with colleagues
• Apply a shift-left mentality, enabling automation and efficiencies through solution design

Required profile

• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a remote setting with a remote team
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
• Comfortable working with business and technical stakeholders at all levels
• Track record of designing and communicating traceable technology solutions and of adopting new technologies

Required skills

• MEAN/MERN stack.NET Core, Python or other middleware technologies
• MFA, SSO (OAuth, SAML), microservices, containers and Kubernetes
• Big data, data lake, BI tools, APM and Agile
• AI competency: AI governance and ethics, generative AI and LLMs, AI-augmented development, agentic AI, cloud AI and ML services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
