Senior Technical Developer (TypeScript/React, ML Pipelines)

About the role

A highly execution-focused Senior Technical Developer (contract) is needed to own the technical and systems layer of an enterprise project controls platform. The software replaces spreadsheet-and-email toolchains used in megaprojects with a single production system serving major capital construction programs. The developer works directly with the founder, remotely, 25-40 hours per week in the EST/CST timezone.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary implementation partner in a production codebase, owning the building, engineering and deployment of full-stack features.
• Write clean Pull Requests and build and maintain machine learning pipelines, including training data preparation, fine-tuning scripts and system evaluations.
• Write raw PostgreSQL schemas, queries (CTEs, window functions) and data migrations.
• Develop, scale and optimize high-throughput model inference and custom voice pipelines (STT/TTS).
• Decompose feature briefs, propose technical architectures and resolve backend production bugs.

Required profile

• 3+ years of production experience with strict TypeScript/JavaScript (generics, type inference, discriminated unions).
• Production React experience and Next.js App Router literacy (server vs client components, middleware, route handlers).
• SQL fluency with raw PostgreSQL, no ORM dependency.
• Python for data preparation, training and evaluation of ML pipelines.
• Strict Git discipline and strong written English for documentation and code reviews.

Required skills

• Deep familiarity with ML infrastructure frameworks (fine-tuning experiments, coursework).
• Nice to have: PyTorch and Hugging Face fine-tuning (PEFT/LoRA, Transformers), STT/TTS, GPU server management, Tailwind CSS, Radix primitives, PDF/Excel/Word export automation, Docker, CI/CD, and prior exposure to capital construction or engineering project controls.

Ramp-up targets: by day 30 a local environment, 5-8 merged PRs and data tracing; by day 60 autonomous feature work, SQL migrations and initial LLM fine-tuning experiments; by day 90 decomposing feature briefs and contributing to voice AI and ML pipelines.
