Senior Java Developer - Business Banking Lending

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 24 ING units worldwide, is hiring a Senior Java Developer for its Business Banking Lending project. The project provides an online application process for business loans, currently covering two models: instant lending (end-to-end online loan) and fast track lending (online application with offline assessment).

Key responsibilities

• Write Java code (version 8 or higher)
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability and performance
• Perform code reviews, share knowledge and take part in testing
• Investigate and resolve defects in test, acceptance and production environments
• Prepare and take part in releases of software components using automated CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor novice engineers

Required profile

• University or Master's degree in Information Technology
• More than 8 years of experience in the field
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Nice to have: experience in application and system security, network components and infrastructure, and financial application development

Required skills

• Java EE, Spring and Spring Boot
• Cassandra, Oracle and other databases
• CI/CD and code quality practices (Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible)
• Agile methodology
• Nice to have: Kotlin or other JVM languages, Kafka, Tomcat, Checkmarx, GitHub Copilot
