DevOps Engineer - Payment & Settlement Services

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, the bank's software development hub, is hiring a DevOps Engineer for its Payment and Settlement Services (PSS) unit. The PSS develops and expands ING's payments platforms and settlement services, and the role focuses on the development and extension of the payment engine platform, its APIs and microservices built with Java and Spring frameworks and deployed via Azure DevOps pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full stack across development, test, acceptance and production environments
• Automate regression testing (functional, performance, security), deployments and operations (failover, backups, security and full-stack monitoring)
• Manage the lifecycle of OS, middleware and database components, including security, vulnerability analysis and patching
• Work in an Agile/Scrum squad, prioritised by a Technical Product Owner, and demo features to the capability squads
• Improve monitoring with event alerts (Grafana, Prometheus, Log4all) and support HA and disaster recovery tests
• Automate testing, deployments and monitoring, and document IT risk and security controls according to the Information Security Management Policy
• Assist with technical specifications for change requests and user stories, and take ownership of issues through to completion

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
• Knowledge of Red Hat operating systems and networking, and experience with clustered server environments
• Ability to automate release processes and operations with Python, Shell or Ansible
• Advanced English; occasional travel to Amsterdam

Required skills

• Azure DevOps or Google Cloud
• Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or similar monitoring and logging tools
• CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, Git, Sonar, Checkmarx
• Virtualization and/or containerization (VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Nice to have: Spring Boot, low-latency infrastructure, SOX and vulnerability management, Oracle databases
