IT Business Analyst - International Finance System

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 24 ING units worldwide, is looking for an IT Business Analyst for its International Finance System (IFS). IFS is an in-house core banking system for wholesale banking clients, offering payment and cash management, lending and financial market services, and runs in 8 countries on a shared infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own the functional support of applications, lead incident analysis, find root causes and coordinate resolutions with technical and business teams
• Define and refine features, documenting business objectives, scope, dependencies, assumptions and acceptance criteria in Confluence
• Analyse requirements, define the logical solution architecture and coordinate changes across modules with architects, feature engineers, product owners and other experts
• Align Product Owners, developers, Operations and business stakeholders, manage dependencies, risks and priorities so changes are ready for release
• Lead peer reviews, ensure quality of analysis deliverables and coach less-experienced analysts
• Define the end-to-end test approach, review test cases and data, support defect triage and coordinate functional readiness for implementation and migration
• Use AI tools responsibly to speed up analysis, improve deliverables and share best practices
• Plan and lead UAT with stakeholders, including scenario definition, execution support, issue prioritisation, sign-off and post-implementation validation

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, owning complex initiatives from discovery to implementation
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process models and solution recommendations
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, including using pseudocode to describe complex business logic
• Extensive experience as an Advanced or Senior Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Tester or Developer, with a strong understanding of the full development lifecycle
• Fluent English and confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and distributed teams

Required skills

• Advanced SQL, able to analyse data independently with complex joins, subqueries, aggregations and data-quality checks
• Nice to have: core banking experience, Agile methodology, advanced requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, traceability and change management, business process modelling, impact assessment and gap analysis
• Nice to have: practical knowledge of AI prompting, output validation and data confidentiality, and knowledge of SWIFT standards such as MT103, MT101, MT202, MT202COV, MT203 and MT200
