IT Business Analyst – Data Lake

About the role

ING Hubs Romania supports 24 ING units worldwide with software development, data management, risk and compliance, audit and retail operations. As IT Business Analyst you will help build a well-governed data lake that guarantees data availability, a common understanding of business terms, high-quality data and traceable, controlled data in line with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders such as Financial Insights, Direct Products, Service and Operations and KYC to understand and clarify requirements
• Draw up conceptual and logical data models and act as a sparring partner for engineers translating them into physical models
• Create detailed specifications that DevOps engineers use to source and structure data in the Data Lake
• Create testing scenarios and take part in functional testing
• Define requirements for data quality, data lineage, data privacy and data security, record data definitions in the data dictionary and maintain them in metadata management
• Work with architects on the data lake design so the implementation follows the target architecture
• Improve ways of working and collaboration, and help gather requirements for automating software processes

Required profile

• Strong conceptual and analytical skills
• Experience in banking or financial institutions is a plus; knowledge of credit risk and credit risk modelling is a plus
• Experience with data governance practices (data quality, lineage, security, privacy, lifecycle management, issue remediation) is a plus
• Detailed, proactive attitude, excellent verbal and written communication, and experience gathering requirements and writing technical and functional specifications
• English at advanced level; bachelor's degree in an IT-related field is a plus

Required skills

• Mandatory: SQL for medium-complexity queries and a good understanding of database concepts
• Nice to have: dimensional data modelling, data warehouse technology, Agile methodologies
