IT Business Analyst – Core Banking Team (Belgium)

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 24 ING units worldwide, is looking for an IT Business Analyst for its Core Banking team. The Core Banking domain develops, maintains and supports account management for savings, current accounts, deposits, payments and investment products across several European countries. The role contributes to a Core Banking implementation project in one of the ING group countries, adapting a standard Core Banking application (from a major provider such as FIS) to local requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, interpret and clarify requirements, refine the product backlog and turn complex business needs into functional specifications.
• Work with the project architect to define the technical solution and create the standard analysis document covering functional and technical design.
• Analyse processes with business owners and end users so the system models their processes correctly.
• Make the necessary system configuration and manage quality assurance, including non-functional requirements.
• Deliver training, documentation and technical support for the developed products.
• Collaborate with developers to adapt solutions to the existing environment.
• Create automated functional tests for user stories and smoke tests, and build and run automated functional, integration, user acceptance and production tests.
• Perform production support: solve incidents, escalate them when needed, find the root cause, document and prevent recurrence.
• Take part in Scrum ceremonies: refinement, planning, daily stand-up and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in banking, in system or business analysis.
• Good knowledge of banking business processes and products; lending products knowledge is mandatory.
• Experience with Core Banking solutions' development and implementation.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Nice to have: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an IT-related field.

Required skills

• Core Banking implementation experience.
• Security, audit and IT architecture best practices.
• Nice to have: SQL, REST API or event streaming, release management, Azure DevOps or GitLab, Agile methodology, and knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
