HR Lead (Head of People)

About the role

Hedepy, a fast‑growing scale‑up providing holistic mental health support across Central & Eastern Europe, is looking for a Head of People to own and evolve its HR function. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the leadership team, you will shape HR for a fully remote, multi‑country workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full employee lifecycle – hiring strategy, onboarding, retention, off‑boarding and exit interviews.
• Lead and develop the internal recruiter, managing priorities and capacity planning.
• Manage contractual and labour‑law setups across CZ, SK and PL, including B2B structures and compliance.
• Oversee the monthly payroll cycle in partnership with external payroll providers.
• Redesign and automate non‑scalable HR processes using tools like Make and AI.
• Build and track people metrics that leadership actually uses.
• Support expansion into new markets and act as the go‑to person for hard conversations, conflicts and employee support.

Required profile

• 4+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years leading the function in an international company of 50‑200 employees.
• Hands‑on operational HR expertise: contracts, onboarding/off‑boarding, recruitment when needed.
• Independent labour‑law judgment in at least one CEE jurisdiction (CZ, SK or PL).
• Proven ability to build automations in Make (or similar) and use an ATS such as Workable, plus daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT).
• Track record of end‑to‑end HR process design and delivery.
• Strong people skills – able to hold hard conversations and provide support.
• English at C1 level; native or fluent in Czech, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian or Romanian.
• Scale‑up DNA – comfortable with limited resources, shifting priorities and shipping workable solutions.
