C++ Software Engineer – Marine Applications

About the role

Garmin is looking for experienced C++ Software Engineers to join its Marine department in Cluj-Napoca. You will work on innovative boating and fishing applications such as Active Captain and Striker Cast, delivering robust, end‑to‑end product solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review complex tasks for technical soundness and accuracy.
• Improve existing software with limited assistance.
• Manage overlapping project tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
• Collaborate with Garmin associates to achieve team goals.
• Act as Feature Owner for Marine initiatives and develop/maintain Mobile Core components.
• Design and develop new modules in the Marine ecosystem.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of C++ (C++11/14/17) and OOP design.
• Understanding of basic system architectures.
• Ability to diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• BSc in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
