Observability & Event Intelligence Senior Engineer

About the role

Join LSEG's Observability platform team in Bucharest as a Senior Engineer, focusing on Datadog and other observability tools. You will help build reliable, intuitive solutions that enable engineering teams to deliver high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce governance, standards and platform reliability, including identity, access and RBAC policies.
• Develop, deploy and integrate SaaS observability platforms such as Datadog, BigPanda, Cribl, Splunk and ServiceNow.
• Implement OpenTelemetry for standardized instrumentation, distributed tracing and metrics collection.
• Automate provisioning and integration using Terraform, Python and REST APIs, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide L3 support, troubleshoot advanced issues and bridge vendor engineers with internal teams.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of technology development experience with strong cloud exposure (Azure preferred, AWS also).
• 2‑3 years working with observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace or similar).
• Experience with open‑source monitoring stacks (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Vector, Jaeger).
• Solid knowledge of ITSM, ITIL and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
