About the role
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Head of Programmes, the Project Assistant (Integration Counselling) supports migrants legally residing in Romania by providing accurate information on rights, obligations and available services. The role combines administrative tasks with direct beneficiary interaction to facilitate successful integration.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, register and enrol beneficiaries in IOM integration projects.
- Provide basic counselling on project services, legal rights, obligations and integration opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with beneficiaries to assess needs and offer follow‑up support.
- Enter and update beneficiary data in project databases, ensuring complete and accurate records.
- Inform beneficiaries about services offered by public institutions, NGOs and community providers.
- Assist beneficiaries in accessing education, employment, healthcare, social assistance and other integration services.
- Refer beneficiaries to appropriate service providers following established procedures.
- Collect, review and organise supporting documentation required for assistance.
- Support the planning and delivery of information sessions, orientation activities and community events.
- Liaise with local authorities, service providers and stakeholders to promote inclusion.
- Contribute to data collection, reporting and other administrative tasks.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with IOM data‑protection policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least three years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Human Rights or a related field with one year of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professionalism, impartiality and respect when interacting with beneficiaries and partners.
Required skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic counselling and information‑dissemination skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential data.
- Familiarity with administrative tools for data entry and reporting.
