Project Assistant – Integration Counselling

About the role

The Project Assistant (Integration Counselling) supports the Project Coordinator and Head of Programmes in delivering information and basic counselling to migrants legally residing in Romania. Based in Brasov, the role focuses on facilitating beneficiaries' access to integration services and ensuring accurate record‑keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, register and enrol beneficiaries in IOM integration projects.
• Provide information on rights, obligations and available services, and offer basic counselling.
• Maintain regular communication with beneficiaries to assess needs and follow up on support.
• Enter beneficiary data into project databases and keep records up‑to‑date.
• Inform beneficiaries about services from public institutions, NGOs and community providers.
• Assist beneficiaries in accessing education, employment, healthcare and social assistance.
• Refer beneficiaries to appropriate service providers following established procedures.
• Collect, review and organise supporting documentation required for assistance.
• Support the planning and delivery of information sessions, orientation activities and community events.
• Liaise with local authorities, service providers and stakeholders to enhance inclusion.
• Support data collection, reporting and other administrative tasks while ensuring confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least three years relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Human Rights or related field with one year relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professionalism, impartiality and respect when interacting with beneficiaries and partners.
