Web Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is building a new engineering team in Bucharest and is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to design, develop and complete tests for Web UIs and Web Services supporting its clearing service, CDSClear. The team will work with colleagues in London and Paris in a commercially focused financial services business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, using Agile or traditional methods as needed.
• Develop functional and non-functional tests that run automatically in GitLab pipelines.
• Engineer and run tests in integrated test environments when complexity or cross-platform needs arise.
• Capture test status and evidence in a test management system (e.g. Zephyr).
• Analyse test failures and raise defects in a tracking tool (e.g. JIRA).
• Work with global teams to understand requirements, design tests, implement them and diagnose defect root causes.
• Champion automation from testing to deployment.
• Work in a regulated financial environment with a focus on cybersecurity and production controls.

Required profile

• Practical experience designing automated tests for Web UIs and ideally Web Services.
• Expert-level skills in test automation frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress) for Web Applications.
• Linux skills for running applications, handling config and test data, and analysing logs and reports.
• Nice to have: understanding of Java-based services (Spring Boot, microservices), CI/CD pipeline engineering, and SQL for querying Oracle databases.
