Virtual Platform Lead Engineer

About the role

Accenture Industry X, part of Accenture, is hiring a Virtual Platform Lead Engineer in its Embedded Engineering Capability in Cluj-Napoca. The team is shaping a Software-Defined Vehicle Platform that unifies Linux, Android, QNX, AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR into one developer ecosystem, supporting ADAS and infotainment. The engineer leads the integration of virtual environments and the virtual platforms used in CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integration of virtual environments based on SIL-KIT or equivalent technology to create virtual system-of-systems.
• Lead the setup, maintenance and integration of QEMU/KVM-based virtual machines for the hypervisor, Android (AAOS Cuttlefish/trout) and Linux guest OS layers.
• Package and deliver the virtual environments as dev-containers where possible.
• Work with software domain teams (AAOS, Linux BSP, hypervisor, MCU firmware) to identify HAL stub interfaces and production software porting requirements per virtualization level.
• Own integration of virtual platforms into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins or equivalent), including test automation, parallelization strategy and result reporting.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience with virtualization and embedded systems, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Understanding of hypervisor concepts: VM lifecycle, inter-VM IPC, GIC interrupt routing, MMU/SMMU, hypercall ABI.
• Experience with QNX Hypervisor or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Android Automotive OS virtualization (AAOS Cuttlefish, trout reference platform, VHAL simulation, virtio HAL shims).
• Hands-on experience with QEMU/KVM for ARM-based system emulation (machine types, device plugins, GDB remote debugging, virtio devices).
• Practical experience with BSP and HAL development, able to define clean stub interfaces at L3 boundaries.

Required skills

• FreeRTOS or comparable RTOS: task scheduling, interrupts, peripheral drivers (SPI, I2C, CAN, ADC, UART, DMA).
• Linux: kernel configuration, systemd, device tree, virtual filesystems.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with embedded/virtual targets.
• Nice to have: SystemC / TLM-2.0, dSPACE VEOS, Synopsis Silver, FMI 3.0 co-simulation, CAN/SOME-IP/LIN virtual bus simulation.
