Solution Expert - MMS HO / Master Data Article

About the role

METRO.digital, the technology arm of METRO, a leading international wholesaler of food, is looking for a highly skilled, communicative and structured Solution Expert to oversee and continuously improve MMS HO / Master Data Article, a key part of its Goods Management landscape. The solution defines and maintains article master data, including attribute enrichment and article relationships, with downstream effects on ordering, replenishment and stock management. The role bridges business and technology, combining service ownership, stakeholder communication, continuous improvement and support for strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into functional designs and actionable tasks.
• Design, configure and optimize solutions aligned with architecture and best practices.
• Conduct user research, testing and analysis to improve user experience and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on scalability, reliability and efficiency.
• Define, prioritize and refine requirements for new features and improvements.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on implementation, integration, testing and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with business processes, governance and standards.
• Manage stakeholders and keep communication clear across teams.
• Maintain documentation, workflows and integration diagrams, and share knowledge.
• Provide training, guidance and consultancy to users and internal teams.
• Stay current on product developments, technology trends and market insights, and contribute to product and solution roadmaps.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge and experience in article master data (5+ years), preferably in an ERP context.
• Ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Ability to respect deadlines and handle a busy workload.

Required skills

• Oracle databases, PL/SQL and Oracle Forms.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
• Incident and change management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
