Operations Manager – Integration and Delivery Tools Platform

About the role

METRO.digital builds the technology behind METRO, a leading international wholesaler of food, covering e-commerce, checkout and delivery software. As Operations Manager for the Integration and Delivery Tools platform, you will own the operational health of the integration landscape and delivery tooling that business-critical journeys depend on. You will spend half your time hands-on and half coordinating squads, vendors and stakeholders. The role is also open to candidates based in Brasov and Cluj.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational stability of the platform across all squads and act as escalation point for platform-level incidents
• Design, document and run the oncall and live-support model, and take part in the oncall rotation
• Lead major incident calls and post-incident reviews, drive RCA, problem management and remediation closure
• Audit and improve monitoring and observability (Datadog), with meaningful alerts and less alert noise
• Define and track SLAs, SLOs and platform KPIs, using dashboards to anticipate risks
• Plan and run disaster recovery and resilience exercises, and plan cloud capacity and seasonal readiness
• Drive performance and resilience testing with squads and set quality gates for critical journeys and releases
• Contribute to FinOps and cost optimisation, and coordinate squads, vendors and stakeholders during escalations and outages
• Help shape the platform operations strategy with the Platform Lead and architects, and coach squads on an operations assurance mindset

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in operations, SRE or platform engineering on large enterprise applications
• At least 3 years leading or coordinating teams, incident response or operational workstreams (line management not required)
• Fluent written and spoken English; based in Romania

Required skills

• Monitoring and observability tooling, ideally Datadog, including alerting design and dashboards
• SRE principles: SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, incident, problem and change management
• Cloud capacity planning, resilience, disaster recovery and cost (FinOps)
• Performance and resilience testing, or a QA/test leadership background with an operations focus
• Nice to have: MuleSoft and Apigee familiarity, release governance and CI/CD, chaos drills, scripting and automation
