Solution Architect - GenAI CoE (Wholesale Banking)

About the role

ING Wholesale Banking is looking for a Solution Architect to support its Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Generative AI. The CoE helps Wholesale Banking teams discover and prove concepts, using bank-wide platforms to turn data into advanced analytics. You will join a team of 40 Enterprise, Domain and Solution Architects, primarily based in Bucharest and part of a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Create solution architecture and technical designs for new initiatives, preferably with GenAI experience (LLM integration, RAG, agentic workflows, prompt orchestration, model selection)
• Guide and support development squads through discovery and productization
• Identify synergies and shared components across initiatives
• Promote technical standards and guidelines, review squad deliverables for conformance, and maintain architectural artifacts (application architectures, architecture decisions, roadmaps, data models)
• Ensure applications are reliable, available, secure and resilient
• Work with stakeholders across EU, Asia and US locations

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years as an IT architect or extensive IT experience as a lead engineer in the AI domain
• Proven production-grade GenAI solutions on a major cloud ecosystem (vector databases, LLMs, RAG)
• Ideally wholesale banking experience in a highly regulated environment
• Curious, responsible, able to communicate complex architecture topics and build partnerships with business and technology leaders

Required skills

• Modelling and modelling languages (UML, ArchiMate)
• GenAI technologies: LLMs, RAG, vector databases, semantic search, agentic frameworks
• MLOps and LLM Ops principles, including deployment, monitoring, model lifecycle management and CI/CD
• IT architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF), service management and agile ways of working
