Senior Java Developer - Easy Financing

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 130 services across 24 ING units worldwide, is looking for a Senior Java Developer for its Easy Financing project. You will design, develop and maintain custom IT solutions in a heterogeneous environment of classic JEE middleware and a microservice-oriented platform, while supporting the migration of legacy components to a modern microservices architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full software development process, from analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, documentation and governance and regulatory requirements.
• Reengineer and support the migration of classic components to a microservice platform, including analyzing the existing landscape, developing migration scenarios and ensuring smooth parallel operation.
• Support the renewal of the IT landscape in a hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to central database structures using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Ensure IT compliance of applications and maintain software quality through code reviews.
• Create automated tests with JUnit, monitor results in Teamscale and Fortify, and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Work with Product Owners, Customer Journey Experts and Feature Engineers to improve customer satisfaction and collaboration.

Required profile

• University degree in software development (e.g. business computer science) or comparable qualification.
• 5 years of practical experience in software development with Java.
• Ideally knows the requirements of a regulated environment.
• Team player who enjoys agile software development and likes taking responsibility for shaping the technical roadmap.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to mentor others.

Required skills

• Java, JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, Oracle, Hibernate, Apache Kafka, Maven and Git.
• IntelliJ and complex Java middleware distributed architectures.
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and hybrid cloud/private cloud is an advantage (Docker/Kubernetes, OpenShift, Elastic Search, Ansible, Microsoft Azure).
