Senior JavaScript Engineer - OpenFin Platform Squad

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 130 services for 24 ING units worldwide, is looking for a proactive senior engineer with an 80% frontend and 20% backend focus. You will work on the OpenFin Platform, a desktop application that provides a unified desktop experience based on the OpenFin framework and the FDC3 protocol, allowing web applications to communicate through a Chromium browser. The role is based in Bucharest.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the OpenFin Platform on the frontend and backend using JavaScript, TypeScript and Lit
• Collaborate with colleagues so that code is high quality, maintainable and meets business needs
• Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Take part in code reviews to ensure code meets standards
• Work with the team on the long-term strategy for the team and the portal application, improving the user experience while reducing time-to-market
• Support colleagues and share knowledge

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years of experience as a Front-End or Full-Stack Engineer
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Ideal candidates: experience with Web Components, strong Node.js experience and a good understanding of browser native Web APIs (WebSockets, Web Workers, Web Storage)
