Senior Java Engineer (CDSClear)

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is building a new engineering team in Bucharest for its CDSClear IT team, which powers CDSClear, a critical clearing service within LSEG. The role is part of the build-out of this team, which will collaborate with colleagues in London and Paris. The Senior Java Engineer analyses requirements, designs, develops and delivers high-quality, well-tested Java server-side solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, using Agile or traditional methodologies as needed.
• Develop Java applications, their tests and supporting infrastructure in development environments.
• Analyse business and functional requirements to design solutions.
• Collaborate with global teams on application and infrastructure design.
• Automate testing to deployment to ensure speed and quality.
• Work in a regulated financial environment with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
• Occasional out-of-hours support for releases or incidents.

Required profile

• 5+ years of similar experience.
• Experience designing and developing Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, microservices) with Maven or Gradle.
• Ability to engineer services meeting corporate standards for resilience and information security.
• Linux skills for managing software and debugging.
• Experience engineering CI/CD pipelines for tests and deployments.

Required skills

• Ansible for configuring and deploying applications.
• Nice to have: React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3; Cypress for web automation testing; AI tools for development productivity.
• Nice to have: Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, Lambda, S3, EFS, Managed Kafka, ELB, Route 53), code scanning tools, Artifactory, and Terraform in CI/CD pipelines.
