Senior IT Business Analyst - Payments & BI

About the role

ING Hubs Romania is a Business Intelligence squad responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data-driven solutions across the Payments domain, using ETL processes, data models and Power BI dashboards. As a Senior IT Business Analyst, you will bridge business stakeholders and the engineering team, turning business requirements into functional and technical specifications for data pipelines, semantic models and reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, challenge and document business requirements, and turn them into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria
• Analyse impacts, dependencies, data flows and cross-system interactions, and support backlog management with the Product Owner
• Analyse source systems and data structures, profile data quality, and define business rules, KPIs, measures and reporting requirements
• Create functional and technical documentation and collaborate with engineers on ETL processes, data transformations and data models
• Support onboarding of new data sources and integration of payments-related datasets
• Create and validate Power BI dashboards and reports, support testing and UAT, and improve reporting usability

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an economic or IT-related field
• English at advanced level (mandatory)
• Experience working Agile in cross-functional teams and with BI, analytics, data warehouse and reporting solutions
• Knowledge of the Payments domain (payment flows, reconciliation, settlement, reporting)
• Familiarity with release management concepts and testing types (progression, non-regression, INT, UAT)

Required skills

• Mandatory: Microsoft stack (SSAS, SSIS, SQL, Power BI)
• Advanced SQL and data analysis, including KPI definition and data quality checks
• Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development
• Understanding of ETL processes and data models
