Principal Software Engineer - Android

About the role

The Principal Software Engineer – Android is responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting new and existing software components for Envipco’s Android‑based Reverse Vending Machine. The role includes defect identification, documentation, fixing, and collaboration with the Validation team to create and execute comprehensive test plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement software for the company’s Android‑based Reverse Vending Machine across all product lines.
• Create new features for Android product lines and resolve database‑related issues.
• Collaborate with senior engineering staff to ensure architectural continuity and mentor engineers.
• Define software requirements, contribute to functional specifications and support continuous improvement of architecture, tools and processes.
• Work with the validation team to create and execute comprehensive test plans and provide third‑tier field support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 10–15 years of professional programming experience, with a strong focus on Android development.
• Customer‑focused attitude and excellent communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Kotlin, Java and C++ programming for Android.
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK, UI layouts and design guidelines.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON and third‑party libraries.
• Linux development environment.
• Python (plus).
