Platform Engineer - International Finance System (IFS)

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, a software development hub serving 24 ING units worldwide, is looking for a Platform Engineer for its IFS (International Financial System) project. IFS is a core bank system for wholesale banking clients offering payment and cash management services, built on a Microsoft stack and currently operated and maintained from Belgium. You will join a new, high-performing team in ING Tech focused on delivering features such as Instant Payments and maintaining the IFS service, working closely with the Belgian team using Agile methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and deployment of the IFS application, including CI/CD via Azure DevOps
• Operate and monitor the application closely, run basic infrastructure operations and manage transfer flows with partners
• Take part in design and technical decisions on new and existing components, mixing big-picture reasoning with component-level delivery
• Own deployments, integration testing, performance issues and incidents, and follow coding and security standards
• Ensure incident, problem and change management, and that penetration tests, disaster recovery, backup and IT risk controls meet ING security standards

Required profile

• At least 2 years of previous operations experience
• Advanced English
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an IT-related field is a plus

Required skills

• Mandatory: Wintel skills (Windows Server, MS SQL administration, provisioning, patching, troubleshooting)
• Mandatory: scripting (PowerShell preferred) and continuous delivery/integration (Azure DevOps preferred)
