Graduate Workday Consultant (French/German)

About the role

Mercer is looking for a graduate or early-career Workday Consultant with French or German to join its Digital Solutions team in Cluj-Napoca. The role supports client projects on the Workday platform by researching issues and trends, helping evaluate HR processes and supporting senior consultants with configuration, testing and validation. It sits within the Digital Transformation department, which helps clients transform and innovate.

Key responsibilities

• Support functional workstreams in Workday HCM deployment projects under the guidance of senior consultants.
• Assist in configuring Workday solutions, explore options and document recommended approaches that meet client needs.
• Help build and maintain prototypes and configuration workbooks.
• Document and describe HR processes and system touchpoints.
• Support the Production Cutover Plan, including data validation, checklists and documentation.
• Learn and apply Workday methodologies and internal implementation standards.
• Keep the Project Manager and senior team members informed on progress and task status.
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams, growing in the role.

Required profile

• 0-2 years of experience in HR systems, HR operations, consulting, finance or other analytical/technology-related roles; internships and student jobs are welcome.
• Basic understanding or strong interest in HR and/or finance processes (core HR, recruitment, payroll, time, basic finance).
• Strong interest in learning Workday and building a career in HR digital transformation / HRIS consulting.
• Fluent English and French or German; excellent communication skills in Romanian.
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail, customer-oriented and able to work in a team.
• Ability to find solutions across documentation sources and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Exposure to an HRIS, ERP or cloud application (Workday, SAP, Oracle, SuccessFactors) is a plus
• Experience in software setup, configuration or testing is a plus
• Experience in cross-functional or international teams is a plus
