Functional Owner - Automotive Embedded Software

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for a Functional Owner in Bucharest, Romania. The Functional Owner is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the features in their assigned domain, coordinating the effort for feature definition, development and testing and acting as the single point of contact for the domain.

Key responsibilities

• Define, plan and monitor the activities of the assigned domain in line with the project scope and timeline
• Work with the customer counterpart to clarify requirements and turn them into technical requirements for the development team
• Align with the software project lead on timelines and priorities and report feature status
• Support the system and software architects during architecture definition
• Coordinate with other domain functional owners to identify interfaces and dependencies
• Lead the software development team so features are implemented and validated against technical requirements
• Work with the test manager so features are properly tested and issues are addressed
• Ensure compliance with Harman and customer processes, standards and quality requirements

Required profile

• University degree (MSc/BSc)
• Proven experience in automotive embedded software development, including requirements management, architecture definition, development and testing
• Experience in a matrix-based organization
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and to work in a hybrid model with the office in Bucharest

Required skills

• ALM and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Good English
• Bonus: knowledge of automotive connectivity/telematics, external customer-facing experience, automotive quality standards such as ASPICE, and agile frameworks such as SAFe
