Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

About the role

Opaque Systems is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI) to act as the technical bridge between enterprise customers and its confidential AI platform. You will work closely with customer engineering teams from architecture review through production deployment, building AI solutions that run securely on sensitive data.

Key responsibilities

• Develop custom AI and agentic solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.
• Lead technical discovery and architecture scoping, turning vague AI aspirations into concrete implementation plans.
• Design and build production‑grade agentic workflows, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and large language model (LLM) integrations on Opaque’s platform.
• Partner with customer engineering teams during deployment, troubleshoot integration issues, and ensure maintainability.
• Conduct technical whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and proof‑of‑concept demonstrations for CTOs, CISOs, and engineering leaders.
• Translate field observations into product feedback, identifying use‑case patterns, integration friction, and feature gaps.
• Create reusable artifacts such as integration guides, POC templates, reference designs, and objection playbooks.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, agentic frameworks, RAG techniques, and enterprise AI tooling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production AI/ML systems.
• Hands‑on experience building agentic workflows, including tool use and multi‑agent orchestration.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with senior technical and security stakeholders.
