Field Technician

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space Romania is seeking a Field Technician to support hardware and firmware deployment both on‑premises and at customer sites across Romania and abroad. The role involves installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of telecommunications and IT&C equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain technical documentation such as as‑built documents, equipment lists and interface control documents.
• Travel to customer sites, drive when required, and perform hardware and software deployment, configuration and testing.
• Assemble, mount, install and configure mechanical and electrical sub‑components in chassis, both in factory settings and on‑site.
• Collect on‑site information, update project databases and perform verification tests according to project requirements.
• Provide urgent on‑site problem solving for hardware, firmware and software issues to meet SLA commitments.
• Maintain equipment, tools and instruments, report malfunctions and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in field installation, commissioning and testing in IT&C or telecommunications.
• Experience working at heights and on telecommunications sites (masts, shelters, data centres).
• Ability to work independently and travel to governmental institutions and end‑users.
• Clean B driving licence and clean police record.
• Fluent English (additional languages optional).
