Field Service Engineer - Poultry Processing Equipment

About the role

JBT Marel, a global leader in food processing technology, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its team in Romania. The role involves installing, servicing and optimising advanced poultry processing equipment at customer sites across the region. The equipment combines mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical engineering and controls technology.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute installation and service projects for primary poultry processing equipment
• Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs to maximise uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and controls-related issues on site
• Lead and coordinate local teams during larger installation and commissioning projects
• Keep customers informed about progress throughout project execution
• Train customer operators and maintenance teams on equipment operation and best practices
• Give technical feedback and improvement suggestions to internal engineering and R&D teams
• Complete accurate service reports and project documentation

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Experience with industrial equipment, preferably in food processing or manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Good written and spoken English
• Valid driving licence
• Enthusiasm for travel and field-based work; approximately 60% travel within Romania and EMEA

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Electrical troubleshooting capability
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics and automation systems is an advantage
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
