DevSecOps Engineer - Release & Environment Management (Remote Bucharest)

About the role

Nelnet is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to provision, configure and monitor infrastructure resources in its Azure cloud environment. The role focuses on DevOps release management, deployments, Azure Pipelines, environment and configuration management, and is a full-time remote position based in Bucharest.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the DevOps release process and frameworks used to promote releases from lower environments to production.
• Develop release implementation plans with project teams and deploy release packages to test and production environments.
• Maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and environments used to build and deploy.
• Keep lower environments available for developers and QA teams, and keep the test environment regularly maintained, upgraded and configured.
• Diagnose and fix hardware and software problems in the test environment and manage resource constraints.
• Enhance and support automation scripts, plan upgrades of automation tools, and update the CMDB with app, service, database and infrastructure details.
• Research and implement new automation tools, and set up monitoring of development, QA and performance environments.
• Enforce environment and application security policies, document procedures, and manage POC environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software development, DevOps frameworks and methodology.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps release management, Azure environment management and deployments.
• Deep understanding of hardware, software, network and data configurations, able to design and maintain test environments.
• Experience supporting production releases and environments, and with Agile development.

Required skills

• Azure, Azure ARM templates, Azure DevOps pipelines, infrastructure as code, and Azure network/security components (ExpressRoute, IPSec, Virtual WAN, WAF).
• Virtualization, Linux and Windows, GitLab/GitHub, Docker/Kubernetes, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Batch and Shell; DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP.
• .NET.NET Core, C#, SQL/NoSQL, REST, Angular, Node.js, Redis.
