Data Analytics Software Architect

About the role

Marsh Technology is looking for a Data Analytics Software Architect to join its team in Cluj-Napoca. This is a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the office. The architect is a visible technical leader who combines hands-on delivery with architecture ownership, helping teams build secure, reliable, scalable and data-driven solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities such as Agentic AI.

Key responsibilities

• Translate enterprise architecture strategy into practical technical direction and set engineering standards across the codebase.
• Drive tactical plans for the Product Ecosystem and own its underlying architecture, keeping it scalable, secure and maintainable.
• Set good practices, guardrails and AI-assisted delivery patterns, and act as the link between software engineering, enterprise architecture and management.
• Oversee technical delivery, guide lead and senior engineers, and design detailed solution architectures with Enterprise Architects and engineers.
• Facilitate collaboration, review designs with the architecture group, and guide methodologies such as Agile at Scale, Lean, CI/CD, TDD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Propose and implement improvements, track progress against engineering goals, and research new technologies.
• Build cloud-based data and analytics solutions, including Agentic AI, with appropriate governance and lifecycle considerations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Engineer across multiple products, ready to operate at architect level.
• Strong communication in Romanian and English, with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership and mentoring mindset, with experience coaching and building collaborative teams.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, security-driven design (SAST/DAST remediation), and tools such as Confluence, Jira, Azure DevOps and GitHub.

Required skills

• Cloud infrastructure: AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Data platforms: data warehousing, data engineering, streaming, BI and reporting, data lakes/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, semantic modeling.
• Programming: JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Angular.NET, gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, MSSQL (T-SQL), MongoDB; RabbitMQ and MassTransit desirable.
• Testing discipline: unit and integration testing.
• Practical experience architecting data and analytics platforms and building Agentic AI solutions.
