Data Analyst - Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics

About the role

ING Hubs Romania, which provides software development, data management, risk and compliance, audit and retail operations services to 24 ING units worldwide, is hiring a Data Analyst for its Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics team. The analyst delivers analytics and insights that improve operational efficiency and customer experience, owning the full lifecycle of analytics solutions from requirements and data sourcing through modelling, insight generation and visualization.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets with SQL and Python (PySpark), identify trends, patterns and anomalies, and turn findings into recommendations
• Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations with Power BI, Cognos or similar tools
• Evaluate data sources, support data quality and profiling, and document methods, assumptions and results
• Work with Product Managers, Tribes and Process Leaders to turn business priorities into data-driven opportunities
• Partner with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver scalable analytics products
• Mentor junior and mid-level analysts and stay up to date with new tools and practices

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, data visualization, statistics or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Statistics or a related discipline; an advanced degree is a strong plus
• Advanced English proficiency
• Preferred: experience with data pipelines and modern data platforms, data analytics in financial services or banking, and hands-on dbt

Required skills

• Strong SQL and hands-on Python, especially PySpark
• Data visualization or BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos or Superset
• Knowledge of data reporting, statistical analysis and standard analytical techniques
• Understanding of predictive models used in machine learning and AI projects
