Business Development Manager

About the role

Join Marsh Romania’s Business Development team in Bucharest, working hybrid with at least three days onsite. You will drive growth through innovative B2B sales strategies and collaborate with the Commercial Leader on impactful initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture strategic relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders.
• Represent Marsh at industry events, corporate gatherings and networking forums.
• Design and implement sales plans that generate leads and qualify opportunities on monthly, quarterly and semi‑annual cycles.
• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, ensuring timely and compelling submissions.
• Leverage analytical insights to forecast sales, monitor KPIs and report performance.
• Lead client interactions including discovery meetings, presentations and strategic planning sessions.
• Maintain accurate client records and manage interactions using Salesforce.com.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven B2B sales success, preferably as a Business Development Manager or Sales Executive.
• Solid understanding of the insurance industry with a strong sales track record.
• Excellent written and spoken English; native Romanian speaker.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Established industry connections and a valid driving licence.

• Proficiency in Salesforce.com.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
