BSP Software Engineer (Telematics)

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for a BSP Software Engineer in Bucharest to complete a BSP driver and Linux Kernel software for Telematics products. The engineer is responsible for BSP software development and design, working on in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency and enjoyment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design BSP software for Telematics products
• Bring up the ED/DV/PV board during the development cycle
• Port drivers for library support, RTOS and Linux
• Support the hardware team with EMC testing and similar tasks
• Provide essential support to customers

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, computer science, automation, physics or a similar field
• 3+ years of C/C++ programming experience on Linux or other embedded systems
• Experience with Linux or RTOS kernel and driver development
• Good communication, software design, problem-solving, debugging, documentation and presentation skills
• Ability to collaborate in a globally diverse team
• Concept of SDK development for variant system platforms

Required skills

• Familiarity with ARM architecture
• Experience with modem SoCs such as Qualcomm, Samsung and MediaTek
• Linux performance optimization is a plus
• KVM, XEN, QNX and other hypervisors are a plus
• CAN/LIN driver development and CANoe/VSPY tools are a plus
• Open source participation and automotive industry experience (TS16949/QS9000) are a bonus
