Solutions Architect

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Solutions Architect to join its Marsh Technology team in Cluj‑Napoca. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office and focuses on early‑stage software development, designing innovative, scalable, and reusable solutions that align with Marsh’s technology standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Portfolio Delivery to understand business and technical needs and design architectural solutions.
• Lead the Pod team to implement designs using agile methodologies, providing light‑touch oversight.
• Incorporate reuse, enterprise standards, and security‑by‑design into solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews and ensure designs meet MMC standards.
• Support cost estimations, budget cycles, and empower development teams to deliver designs.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, able to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment.
• Strong communication with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience designing technology solutions traceable to requirements.
• Inquisitive mindset with a track record of adopting new technologies and architectural patterns.

Required skills

• MEAN/MERN stack.Net Core, Python or similar middleware technologies.
• Multi‑Factor Authentication, Single Sign‑On (OAuth, SAML).
• Containers, Kubernetes, microservice‑based architecture.
• Secure‑by‑Design concepts and Secure DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Big Data, Data Lake, BI tools, and Application Performance Monitoring.
• Agile development methodologies.
• AI competencies: generative AI, LLMs (GPT, Gemini), prompt engineering, RAG integration, AI‑augmented development (GitHub Copilot), cloud AI/ML services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
