Senior Software Engineer C++

About the role

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer C++ in Bucharest. The engineer will design and develop a Real-Time SDK and the surrounding server-side infrastructure, using infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, management and monitoring to support real-time financial content. The role works with local and remote teams to define requirements, design technically and implement solutions, and calls for independent work with little supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Create product designs for features from high-level requirements and document them
• Write, test and debug C and C++ code for Real-Time library features, and fix customer-reported issues
• Build unit tests, review QA test plans and perform validation and verification testing
• Estimate time and complexity for features, and identify and complete tasks on time
• Maintain tools and applications following open-source standards, and automate tasks with scripts
• Review and debug code, collaborate with internal teams and vendors, and work with support to isolate and fix issues
• Document development phases, monitor systems and deploy containerized products to Azure, AWS or other cloud environments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent; a Master's is a plus
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with extensive software development experience
• Strong knowledge of C and C++, low-level networking, socket programming and TCP/IP and UDP multicast protocols
• Experience with Linux and Windows and cross-platform development
• Excellent organizational skills and analytical, problem-solving mindset

• Jira and Agile methodology
• Nice to have: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, CMake, and other languages such as Java, C#, Go, Node.js, Ruby, R, Perl
